Doing so not only promotes fairness but also builds trust between individuals who may be entering into or continuing a lifelong commitment.

In past generations, premarital counseling was a hallmark support of navigating the transition from dating couple to married couple. During this process, the individuals involved would explore their dreams, fears, goals, values, other relationships, and anything else relevant to their future marital success.
